Bird Behaviour
Watch what the bird is doing
Birds can give us clues through their actions. Watch quietly and give them plenty of space.
Feeding: Is it sipping nectar, picking seeds or searching the ground?
Preening: Is it carefully cleaning and arranging its feathers?
Calling: Is it making a contact call or warning other birds?
Resting: Is it perched quietly or sheltering in shade?
Socialising: Is it playing, chasing, pairing up or moving with a flock?
Observe from a distance; never disturb a nest or pressure wildlife to interact.
